Mary I Robertson

boat0026The tug Mary I Robertson was built in 1914 and used to help larger vessels dock in Cornwall.

    Tug used, about 1950, to take a sand pumping barge and transport barge down the river on south side by indian reservation.. Residents of Indian Reservation would come to pumper to operate and obtain sand from river bottom. Sand transported back to Cornwall to be sold. Boiler and steam engine removed, and replaced with diesel engine for use during seaway construction . I rode ,when a young boy, down the river many times on the tug.
